good questions

Why import when I can buy locally?
the major reasons are basically a net cost savings against local purchasing (of in many cases goods originating from overseas), Product upgrade at same cost as an inferior item – say granite counter tops versus formica purchased locally, product availability where items may be hard to procure locally, and customization of goods for next to no additional charge.

What is the process for importing?
determine the products | agree the pricing | agree qty | agree dispatch dates | pay deposit | goods are made and shipped | pay balance when goods are on the water | goods are cleared through customs and delivered to your site | unload container on site | use and enjoy the benefits of direct importing! next to no additional charge.

What happens when something goes wrong?
we all make mistakes and it is inevitable that some human error will occur sometime during your importing career just as it does locally. The difference is that it takes longer to rectify when importing. This has to be factored into the decision making process. Suppliers will remedy their mistakes, but in the meantime you might need to find something locally or wait for the next container.

What sort of things make sense to import?
This varies from client to client. For some clients a savings of 5% is worth it. For others the answer is 50%. Pricing is one consideration, another is time sensitivity for delivery – as the goods going into stock or is it a just in time operation

How does the money work?
Deposit of 30 to 50 percent is normal with the balance on shipment when the goods are verified to be in the container and on the ship.
